Department of Finance

The Department shall be responsible for managing the financial resources in order to facilitate implementation of programmes.

The Department shall perform the following specific functions:

  1. Preparation of financial management reports in order to comply with financial regulations;
  2. Establish internal controls in order to enhance accountability in the utilisation of financial and material resources;
  3. Maintenance of expenditure and commitment ledgers in order to ensure that public funds are appropriately utilised;
  4. Collecting and accounting for revenues in order to safeguard public resources and support the budget;
  5. Accounting for assets in order to safeguard public property;
  6. Preparation of annual audited accounts; Management of risks in order to mitigate losses;
  7. Payroll Management;
  8. Cash Management; and
  9. Conduct budgetary Control in order to prevent budget over-runs and misapplication of funds.
