HON ELIAS MUBANGA CALLS ON SMES TO SHOWCASE SKILLS
The Minister of Small and Medium Enterprise Development, Hon. Eng. Elias Mubanga, toured the Kafue Industrial Yard to appreciate the progress of enterprise development initiatives.
During the tour, Minister Mubanga expressed satisfaction with the growth of SMEs particularly Joe Classic Doors, which was provided with space in the industrial yard after being identified in the John Howard Compound of Lusaka.
The company has seen significant improvement in door production and increased its workforce from 10 to 40 employees through value addition efforts.
Eng. Mubanga also praised the agro-processing activities within the industrial yard, aligning these developments with President Hakainde Hichilema’s vision for economic growth.
He emphasized that SMEs and cooperatives are the economy’s backbone, with value-addition activities providing crucial employment opportunities for the youth .
The Minister encouraged SMEs to showcase their skills, enabling the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprise Development to identify them and facilitate connections with financial institutions .
In support of this initiative, Access Bank Zambia’s Head of SME Banking, Ms. Veronica Musimuko, committed the bank’s support to SMEs by offering customized financial solutions to address their specific challenges
